It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been in their lives what matters is what you’re willing to bring to their hearts.
Did you know that 40% of families are composed of blended families (stepfamilies).
Don’t allow me to bore you—stay awake!
Meaning that over a million Americans have a step-relationship with another person yes pretty much about 35% of every man, woman, and child!!!!!!!!!
Can you imagine the heave that it puts on children? #pulling
I can imagine! I’m part of one!
NOW, Unlike in this image I shared where a strong male is having his arms stretched by what it appears to be an average 8 year old girl and perhaps a 5/6 year old boy, what is being pulled in a lot these #households are children’s #hearts. Innocent, fragile, heart, that if are not handled with care will not make it unbroken to their destination.
Hearts are being pulled apart by the conflicts of not knowing who’s heart to follow, whether it is the mom, dad, stepmom, stepdad, grandma grandpa step-siblings, step-grandparents and the list GOOOES on (please contact me if you need more information)— every other weekend or even mid-week. What could be even worse is daily at times, multiple times a day.
Why should they, when we’re the strong ones?
Parents pray for your children!
We are the ones who should protect them and care for them, they should not hold the heavy load and haul with us!
How about if as blended families we rise stronger together—instead of bringing more turmoil to their already troubling and confuse hearts with everything that they’re seeing out in the world?
May we help them navigate through life by being compassionate and not hypocritical?
Can we truly teach with compassion and care, can we love fervently to remember daily that they deserve the best because they are tomorrows future standing in front of us?
How do we have the nerves to complain about this generation?
We’re raising them!!
