As recognized by the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) and its affiliates, trained Christian mental health coaches integrate biblical truth with proven psychological principles to help individuals grow, heal, and thrive. This is a distinct role from a professional clinical therapist and is sometimes considered a form of lay counseling.

Coaching as a form of Lay Counseling: Christian mental health coaching can be viewed as a specialized type of lay caregiving when the coach has received biblically-based, clinically-informed training and certifications.
Unlike therapy, which focuses on diagnosing and treating mental health conditions, coaching is present, future-focused, and action-oriented—helping you set goals, strengthen resilience, and develop practical coping strategies. It’s about walking with you through life’s challenges, equipping you to move forward in faith, and connecting you to deeper levels of care when needed.
What You Can Expect:
- Biblically-Based Guidance (at your discretion): Applying God’s Word to real-life challenges.
- Goal-Oriented Support: Setting and achieving mental, emotional, relational, and spiritual goals.
- Collaborative Partnership: You know your life; I help facilitate the change you desire.
- Church & Community Focus: Building mental health-friendly spaces within the Body of Christ by partnering and educating the church.
- Stepped-Care Approach: Serving as a front-line resource and referring when higher care is needed.
- Areas of Support: Anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, addiction, grief, relationship struggles, PTSD, parents coaching, blended families, and more.
- This approach is designed to be both practical and deeply rooted in faith, offering hope, encouragement, and a clear path forward.
