The Lord of the Harvest: Praying for Revival and a Global Awakening
“The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” (Matthew 9:37-38)
The ultimate cry of this week of prayer is beyond the need for nations to be blessed, but for souls to be saved as well. Jesus saw the crowds and was moved with compassion, declaring that the harvest was ready but the laborers were few. That truth still stands today. People across the globe are hungry for hope, searching for meaning, and desperate for truth. Revival begins with prayer when God’s people humble themselves and call on His name. He answers with power. Throughout history, great awakenings have always been birthed in prayer. As we close this week, we ask for revival in our churches and for a global awakening where lives are transformed and nations are changed by the Gospel.
Pray with me:
Lord of the Harvest, we cry out for revival. Awaken the hearts of Your people and stir a hunger for Your presence. Send laborers into every nation, every community, every field where souls are ready to receive You. Prepare the hearts of those who are not ready. Pour out Your Spirit in power—let dry bones live again, and let hearts burn with faith. May this week of prayer spark a movement that leads to a great harvest for Your Kingdom until the whole earth is filled with Your glory. In Jesus’ name, amen!
