Prayer for the Church
Leading Scripture: “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.” (Matthew 5:14)
Time of Reflection:
The global Church is more than buildings and denominations—it is the living body of Christ. In some places, the Church thrives openly, while in others, it meets quietly under persecution, underground’s and is highly terrorized. Wherever believers gather, the Spirit of God is present. Yet, the Church faces challenges: disunity, compromise, fear, and distraction. This week reminds us to pray for renewal and boldness. When the Church shines as it is called to, the world cannot help but see the light of Christ in the cities, states, and nation where believers gather.
Woo… okay, time for a prayer:
Jesus, our Lord and Savior, thank you for the Christian Church. Thank you for the body of God. Strengthen Your Church across the nations. Fill pastors and leaders with Your Spirit. Encourage weary believers and bring peace to the brokenhearted. Unite Your people across cultures, languages, and traditions under one name, Yours. Where the Church is persecuted, give courage. Where it sits lukewarm, father I ask that you bring the fire of Your Holy Spirit. May the world see Your glory through Your people. In your name I pray, amen!
