Entering the Promised Land

Trusting God’s Plan

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” — Joshua 1:9When Joshua stood at the edge of the Promised Land, he faced both an incredible opportunity and an overwhelming challenge. Moses, his mentor and leader, was gone, and now the responsibility of leading God’s people into their inheritance rested on his shoulders. The land was filled with enemies, fortified cities, and obstacles that seemed insurmountable. Yet, God’s command to Joshua was clear: Be strong and courageous.

Let’s Create a Wedge for Doors to Remain Open—For Others to Cross

Like Joshua, we all have a “Promised Land” in our lives, a place of purpose, fulfillment, and the calling God has placed on us. But often, stepping into that promise requires us to leave behind fear, doubt, and the comfort of the familiar. The Israelites had wandered in the wilderness for forty years, and now it was time to move forward. However, movement required faith.

God didn’t just give Joshua a command; He gave him a promise: I will be with you wherever you go. Victory wasn’t based on Joshua’s strength, wisdom, or experience, but on God’s presence and faithfulness. The same is true for us. Whatever battle you’re facing today. Whether it’s fear, uncertainty, or a struggle in your faith; God is calling you to step forward with courage.

Our promised land may not be a physical territory, but it is a place of obedience, trust, and stepping into God’s will for your life. The enemy may try to make us feel unqualified, too broken, or not ready, but God’s promise still stands. When He calls us (yes you and me, both) to something, He equips us for it.

Reflect on This

• What is the “Promised Land” God is calling you into?

• What fears or obstacles are holding you back?

• How can you remind yourself daily that God is with you?

Trusting in the unknown may feel very uncomfortable but believing that you were created for more, doesn’t have to be.

Would You Pray With Me?

Lord, help me to trust You as I step into the promises You have for me. Remove fear and doubt, and give me the courage to move forward, knowing that You go before me. Strengthen my faith and remind me that Your presence is all I need. In Jesus’ Name I Pray, Amen.
