The Power of Choices:

Every day, we are faced with choices—some big, some small, some extremely significant, others a little less. But the truth is, the choices we make shape the way we view our lives, how we exercise our faith, our interactions with others, and our physical health and mental well-being.

God reminds us in Deuteronomy 30:19, that He has set before us the opportunity to choose, between death, blessings, and curses.

“I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.”

This verse is a great reminder that we are not powerless. We have been given power to make the right choices the ability to choose what we want:

  • Faith over fear
  • Peace over anxiety
  • Growth over stagnation
  • Hope over despair
  • Love over hate
  • Life over death
  • Forgiveness over bitterness
  • Recovery over loss
  • Restoration over destruction

I’m not sure between what choices you find yourself today. Maybe today, you need to choose to forgive. Maybe you need to choose to trust God more deeply. Maybe you need to choose to take one small step toward healing.

Whatever it is, today is your day to choose.

What will you choose this Chooseday?

At first glance, this seems like an obvious choice—who wouldn’t choose life and blessings? But the reality is that many of us, often without realizing it, make choices that pull us toward negativity, fear, and doubt. We stay stuck in unhealthy thought patterns, hold onto bitterness, or let past failures define us and steal our blessings.

I want to challenge you to become more intentional with your choices. Here are a few key areas where your decisions can shift the trajectory of your life:

1. Choose Faith Over Fear

Fear whispers that you’re not enough, that the unknown is too risky, that failure is inevitable. But faith reminds you that God is with you, that He equips you for every challenge, and that your future is in His hands. Today, choose to trust Him more deeply.

2. Choose Growth Over Comfort

We often resist change because it feels uncomfortable. Growth requires stretching, stepping into the unfamiliar, and sometimes even failing. But every lesson learned and every challenge overcome makes you stronger. What small step can you take today to move toward growth?

3. Choose Peace Over Anxiety

The world gives us endless reasons to worry—finances, relationships, the future. But Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Instead of dwelling on what you can’t control, choose to surrender it to God. Let go, breathe, and receive His peace.

4. Choose Forgiveness Over Bitterness

Holding onto resentment only drains you. Forgiveness doesn’t mean forgetting or excusing what happened—it means releasing the burden so it no longer controls you. Who do you need to forgive today? Maybe it’s someone else, or maybe it’s yourself.

5. Choose Hope Over Despair

No matter how difficult life feels right now, God is not finished with your story. His promises still stand. The situation you’re facing is not the end—it’s just a chapter. Choose to hold onto hope, knowing that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).

What Will You Choose Today?

Take a moment to reflect. What is one thing you can choose today that will bring you closer to the life God wants for you, to the life you’ve been longing for?

Be blessed and be well!
