Prayer for Leaders

Scripture: “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority…” (1 Timothy 2:1-2)

Let’s Reflect on This:

Leaders carry a great weight and responsibility that not many can begin to comprehend. Their choices affect nations, generations, and often history itself. Some take this very seriously, and others don’t understand the weight of those responsibilities. Either way, we are called to pray for them. Some lead with humility and integrity, others with pride and greed. Yet, God’s Word commands us not just to criticize leaders but to pray for them. Our intercession can shape decisions, shield them from evil counsel, and invite God’s wisdom into the halls of power. Even when leaders seem far from God’s ways, our prayers can open doors for His purposes to prevail.

Let us Pray:

Father God, we lift up those in positions of authority across the world. Give them wisdom beyond human understanding, courage to do what is right, and compassion for the people they serve. Protect them from corruption, selfish ambition, and the traps of the enemy. Raise up righteous leaders, and turn the hearts of the stubborn toward truth and justice. Remove from office all corruption and evil work and reward the righteous with provision, vision, new strength and sustainment. In Jesus’ name, amen!
