Can You Hear Your Teenager’s (silent) cry?

“A baby will grow to be an adult one day but that baby will never stop being your child” DK.

Most adolescents feel trapped living a life that doesn’t belong to them, but again they don’t know how to escape from that causing them to life in conflict with themselves. Very often teenagers go with the crowd only to realize later on in their adult lives that they lived a life that wasn’t for them, leaving them with regrets and a sour taste of the most glorious and potentially most beautiful years of their lives. All teenagers experience a stage called Pathological Narcissism, and while they may appear to be “okay” and act like they have it all under control portraying a selfish, self-centered egocentric image, the reality is that a lot of teens are nowadays crying in silence inside. Adolescents are fragile individuals, who might appear as though they’re pushing you away in their silent attempts to draw you closer, all  your child want is for you to be closer and understand.

Please do just that GET CLOSER Giving space doesn’t necessarily mean “go away”.

-Sometimes a hug can help shape their lives-

  1. Have you noticed your adolescent’s cry for help?
  2. Do you know how to identify it?
  3. Do you need help identifying your own child’s cry?
  4. When was the last time you hugged your teen?
  5. Do you still have dinner together (at home)?

If any of the above seem to hit close to home, reach out to me:

Get Up Stronger

“At times is necessary to touch bottom and be laid flat on the ground to realize how much higher from it we belong” -DK.

That statement above can sound harsh right.

I am not saying live in the clouds and act as though you’re better than everyone around you, but what I am definitely trying to say instead is that the best comes out when we’re in our lowest places.

Suffering can increase your motivation, it is during our hardest moment that we realize that “something’s gotta give” things can’t remain the same, “I must make a change”.

If you’re disconnected—from what you’re going through you can either tell yourself

“I will never make it, I’m not enough, this is always the same, I knew this would fail, why do I even try?, everyone lives better than me, everyone looks better than me…”etc.etc. or you can hit the switch re-connect with the inner beauty that lives within you and tell your beautiful soul;

“I will make it and if I don’t make it now, I will try again, I am more and I am loving myself, this time it will not be the same, I know I will not fail and if it doesn’t work out I am ok with that, I will always try, I will live the life I want, I look as good as God because I am made in His image and likeness”, and so on and so on… learn how to look up right from where you are, use that ground to step on it.

Recondition your brain, revalue who you are. Find the purpose of the pain, think what it has to offer, what would come out of it. Although you may not know the answer now I’m one hundred percent sure that if you practice this every time you feel down, or left down you will learn to cast your eyes on the things that are higher, and find yourself there all along.

Your inner kid is still inside yearning for help and approval and you are the only one who can provide this comfort and reassurance. Because you are an adult now. But you will not realize this until you love yourself fully and accept all the pieces of yourself.

“We come alone to a world filled with millions of souls, we leave this world and we get to take one…our own” -Denise K.

Bring Out the Calm You

Do you often feel unable to control your thoughts and worries, always thinking about your job, your relationships, your health, or simply everything and everyone all at once?

We will always worry about the things that matter the most to us, after all. It is an understandable part of our human nature to care for those we love, and make sure that the things we value are going just well.

Now, this doesn’t mean that you have to become self-sabotage. Have you been more anxious than ever lately (or does it seem like it at least)? Are you questioning your image, your weight, unable to control small situations, feeling like your getting older, scared of not aging successfully, or experiencing overall unhappiness?

If you answered “yes” to any of those questions you’re not alone, I have been there, they (others) have been there, you’re there; we’ve all been there! Anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness affecting over 40 million  Americans today (imaging the rest of the world), and including a long list of hard to identify symptoms.

But I want you to please, know that there’s more within you, that you are more than what you think, that things are not as bad as they seem, and again, you are not alone.

Believe it or not there are ways to turn off your anxiety without medication and with self meditation, reconnecting with the inner you who (is anxious) wants to come out.

Fixating on your past, being fearful of your future and not being connected with yourself in the present moment will take a toll on your mental, emotional and physical health and overall well-being.

I’m not saying let’s unplug and disconnect!

Now is the time to learn some meditation techniques, lets activate those endorphins in your brain. Let me teach you how to make them act as sedatives to calm that anxiety and get re-rooted to your ground.

It’s time to shut off your anxiety and turn on your life!

Take Risks That Don’t Place Your Future in Jeopardy

Don’t be scared of taking risks and doing what you want. Thinking about it will not get you anywhere.

In this life you reap what you have sown.

Are you sowing?

A have a few more questions:

  1.  Are you fighting for what you want or what you (who) want is fighting you? You know what you want, why not go get it instead of losing sleep over it.
  2. Are you doing anything today that will add or subtract to your future? Invest in your future, at time not investing equals spending (even time).
  3. Are your dreams scaring you and chasing away instead of you chasing them, are you fleeing? Then those are the dreams that you need to turn around and go after. That’s your calling, God will take care of the rest, but you have to take the first step.
  4. Are you tired of belonging to the government, society, racial injustice, discrimination, stereotyping, your boss, religion, “what people may think”? Become the government, contribute to society, fight for racial justice with peace, do not discriminate (not everyone of a certain color is a certain way), stop being stereotypical yourself (not everyone of a certain color is racist or hates you), and become your own boss, don not conform to the patterns of this world END religion and follow God-Jesus your Savior’s foot steps, that will help you worry less about what people think. Give them something to talk about.
  5. Is your view too small or too broad , can you visualize (faith) yourself 3 years from now?

If you’re view is too small is because you need to believe in yourself (you’re more), if your view seems to BROAD is because you’re getting ahead of yourself (perspective), and if you can’t see what other’s see or empathize with vision (faith) is because you’re stuck looking back and further action is required.

•do something amazing •right there •right now •take action •move forward •go for it •you can do it •dream •believe •achieve •don’t quit •make history •women •men •youth •children •you’re capable •trust God •have-faith •lifecoach

Fibromyalgia in Your Brain

The wealth of experimental evidence showing that FM patients are hypersensitive to painful stimuli, as well as unpleasant stimuli from other sensory modalities, in conjunction with functional brain imaging data showing increased stimulus-evoked activation throughout nociceptive pathways, shows that the defining symptom of FM—increased pain—is in fact real and not just a response bias of the patients. The finding that perception is increased in multiple modalities speaks against the hypothesis that FM pain is due to an upregulation of peripheral nociceptive processes. Further, psychophysical evidence that descending modulatory systems are altered in FM patients supports the opposing idea that FM symptoms are at least in part caused by alterations in CNS processing of the pain signal, including a dysregulation of pain modulatory systems. Nevertheless, the apparent dysregulation within these systems could be caused and/or perpetuated by a tonic activation related to the presence of ongoing widespread pain, so that the systems are saturated and cannot regulate further in response to external stimuli.

Fibromyalgia in Your Brain

As a person who has lived with this diagnosis for many years I’ve experienced what it feels like all the symptoms of fibromyalgia and just when I believe it is cured (although my normal days are never pain free days and I know there is no cure for it) I come to the realization that it was simply under control. That fibromyalgia indeed is part of my life and although it does not identify me it is a diagnosis that I have. As an individual who is constantly looking for the best possible ways to stay healthy, mentally, & spiritually in order to live my best I cannot sleep on this chronic pain condition. If like me you siffer of fibromyalgia or any other chronic pain condition please know that you will have up and down, and when I say you can sleep on it I mean you must use your energy suply wisely, be patience with yourself when you don’t feel so great but most importantly don’t abuse of your good days.

I must not rely on the days I feel by best to or use them as some sort of fat deposit storage as when a person goes into starvation.

If I want to help others live their best life, I must start with myself. What may appear as a “simple flare” will creep up and attack LITERALLY from the inside out in a matter of seconds.

Your emotional, spiritual and mental well being is of utmost importance when it comes with dealing with (ANY) Fibromyalgia #fibromyalgiaisreal

You’re more than the giant you’re facing!

Life can be challenging making obstacles seem higher than they truly are, and the waters perceive to be rising higher than the natural. As a result you may feel as though there’s no way out…. Do you feel like your current situation is more than you can handle?

If so, allow me to refresh your hippocampus-that part of your brain that is associated with memory function. In reality that is basically what I will do it in this my blogs a lot. I’m pretty sure what I am going to tell you now will and has crossed your mind in the past, there’s always something or someone to remind us that, “we are more” well YOU ARE MORE. Use your memory to retrieve relive that moment when you felt as though you were more than the current situation your facing right now.

“Some answers to your many questions are residing within yourself, you just have to reach to God—He’s already there”.

In order for some things to fall into place, other things must move out of place…stay connected, find the rhythm within your heartbeat -Dk

There’s an old saying that goes “Easier said than done”, that is still true to this day, but I’m a firm believer that it gets easier once we start doing it… Therefore, “Easier when you start getting things done” -Dk

Life gets lighter when you have some help. Stay connected to what is to come, don’t lose hope, reach out, and let me show you that you’re more than the giant you’re facing!

Stay Blessed I hope you enjoy the blogs that to come,

  Denise Kilby
